Excellent quality English asparagus
Excellent quality English asparagus and well worth waiting for until in season.
excellent
But can do without other comments on their recipes!! or if they use an air fryer! All we need to know is if they are happy with the product!
Sweet and delicious if prepared well
This is the third patch of this season's English asparagus I've had from Ocado, and all three have been great. I do snap the ends off, and then gently peel the stalks, before steaming for around 4-6 minutes. The spears have all retained a good bite and have a sweet and delicious flavour. Great just on their own as a side dish with a knob of butter and black pepper or maybe a little parmesan and lemon zest, but have also used in pasta dishes - steaming then slicing into chunks and adding at the very last minute so they don't overcook.
Fresh
Very good quality.
Tasty!!
I oven roasted these for lunch and they were lovely !!
Exquisite, glorious!
This varies every season according to weather conditions, storage etc – this season it is exquisite! It has a glorious deep, full earthy flavour and perfect crisp, tender texture which it retains throughout cooking. The depth of flavour and texture are exceptional - just be very careful not to overcook it. Consistently fresh with beautiful purple green heads and deep green stems. Exquisite lightly steamed and drizzled with organic olive oil or avocado oil, and perfect added to pasta, risotto, stir-fry and curry towards the end of cooking time. It keeps fresh for several days. Plus it is British - perfect in every respect!
