Needs some salt but
I thin slice these and lightly salt/olive oil to go in Ciabattta. Perfectly serviceable and a staple.
Small. Tough. Tasteless.
I appreciate these are called cooking tomatoes, but I’ve always bought them and used them fresh in my salads. They’ve always been really tasty, firm, the flesh good and the skins very tender. This is the only place I’ve been able to buy them and get them delivered along with the rest of my shopping. Usually there are 2 or 3 big tomatoes in the pack. The pack that was delivered in my most recent shop contained 5 very small, rock hard tomatoes. Having just chopped one up to eat with lunch, it was awful. Completely tasteless. The skins are too tough to be edible, and this has spoilt my lunch. I don’t eat lettuce, so tomatoes, olives and avocado are my staple salad. I’ve had to throw away the 1/3rd of my lunch that consisted of the tomato, and the rest of the very expensive pack will go the same way. If I want cooking tomatoes, I buy tinned as they’re cheaper and already chopped. I’m bitterly disappointed at the dreadful quality of such expensive food and won’t buy them again.
Good Tomatoes
These are fine for cooking. Good flavour , also nice on toast
Very little taste
Very bland. Shame but I don't buy them again
Perfect for cooking
Perfect condition. Plum tomatoes are excellent for cooking. Not expensive as no waste.
Perfectly good cooking tomatoes
The tomatoes I got were a bit mealy on the inside but definitely not mouldy. And since they're for cooking, the mealiness doesn't really matter. The low water content of these tomatoes makes them good for cooking.
