Sweet but lacking depth of flavour
The chocolate has a great texture that evidences its high quality Swiss origin and tastes sweet, though is somewhat lacking in depth of flavour and tastes more milky than it does rich and creamy. There are plenty of small pieces of nougat that are very well distributed throughout the bar, making it is impossible to get a bite without any in. This nougat has a distinctive honey flavour but very little almond taste, which is a bit disappointing. The bar is split into 16 chunks, which are much thinner and flatter than those of the branded version and can be a tad difficult to break apart without the chocolate splintering. All in all, the eating experience is pleasant but the sweetness of the chocolate and nougat merge to make the overall taste of the bar just a general sweetness rather than making it being a unique and moreish product in its own right. I haven’t had the white chocolate variant of the branded bar in years so cannot compare them but for me the two elements just did not work as well here as I imagined they would.
Delicious replacement for Toblerone.
White Toblerone is very hard to find these days, but this is a worthy replacement. I havent noticed the waxy texture other reviews complain about, I find the chocolate creamy and delicious.
Lovely
It's years since I've had one of these, but despite what others are saying about it being waxy, I still love it. At least with this bar you can taste the nougat and almond, unlike the dark version.
Recipe Change?
This is still a good chocolate bar but I have only awarded 3 stars because I have noticed a few disappointing changes in the last year. The bar used to have bigger more frequent pieces of nougat running through it but now has less, and the chocolate seems waxier with less depth of vanilla flavour. The chocolate is still far superior to the branded version but I hope M&S take some feedback and implement some positive changes.
Why change a good thing?
Something has changed about these- they used to be delicious creamy chocolate but it is now waxy. I won't be buyjng one again i am afraid.

These havent changed a bit, delicious creamy chocolate with tiny nougat pieces. Delicious!
