It may not be the thick paste others are hoping for but its still delicious. I could eat a jar full and its so easy to pour or spoon on extra if needed. Love it
Its only 33% tamarind, so mostly water and sugar. You can barely taste it! Completely defeats the point of using tamarind. Awful.
Lacks intensity of flavour. Very watery. Not fragrant
I really like this tamarind paste. The ingredients are simple with no preservatives unlike other tamarind pastes. Yes, the colour is lighter and consistency thinner than the Barts tamarind paste, but I prefer this. The taste is pure tamarind, and it feels and tastes more natural. The Barts paste is thickened with cornflour and harder to stir into sauces. Unlike the previous reviewer, I much prefer this one.
Bought this as Barts was out of stock - wish I hadnt bothered as it was dreadful - much lighter and more watery than tamarind sauce/paste normally is. Had to throw it away.
