Product information

This characteristically zesty and fragrant South African Sauvignon Blanc is made by Jeff Grier, of Villiera Winery. Crafted from low yielding vineyards, including old bush vines, all the plots are farmed sustainably around Stellenbosch.

Intensely aromatic with gooseberries, passion fruit, and fresh figs.

Easy to drink, but lacks disctinction

Our very first bottle of MS Villiera sauvignon blanc proved easy to drink, but the wine doesn't have the stand-out qualities mentioned in the description. Little bouquet, muted flavours on the palate, and little enduring taste. Overall, rather bland and disappointing.

Good old South Africa

This was a substitute for a South African wine I've bought many times before. its such a good strong flavoured sauvignon blanc I will definitely buy it again

DIsappointing

A bottle of the 2021 vintage was much too acidic for my tastes, and too acidic to drink on its own. It could be paired with creamy or fatty foods where the acid might help to balance. In my kitchen though, the bottle has joined the oils and vinegars as another cooking ingredient

great winemaker

Have always enjoyed Villiera wines in South Africa. Great to have this available from M&S, and it is well priced for such a lovely SB.

Nice sav blanc

saw the reviews and gave it a try not disappointed not as green as some so perfect for me fairly smooth and easy to drink

Top quality wine

Based on other reviews, I bought a bottle and it is an excellent Sauvignon Blanc. An excellent balance of acidity and dryness. On the shopping list again this week.
