Unpleasant
I love tartare sauce but not this one. I used to get Maille tartare sauce as my first preference and did not realise that the recipe had changed. It is not very nice at all. I will probably stick with Tracklements (which is a bit creamy tbh) or one of the M&S variants. I will not buy this again - and I always have tartare sauce in the house; I put in on a lot of food.
revolting
revolting totally synthetic taste, no tang. sadly, I made the mistake of placing an ample dollop on my fish and ruined most of it. It tastes only of cheep ultra processed mayonnaise. It has been re assigned from condiment cupboard to bin.
Utterly Revolting Now!
Who at Maille had the bright idea of supposedly improving their Tartare Sauce by adding 'a hint of cayenne pepper' to a tried, tested and successful product?? This was previously my 'go to' brand. It now tastes beyond awful ! Did anyone at Maille actually taste this inedible concoction before launching it on unsuspecting consumers? DO NOT BUY!!
Why?
Why has Unilever changed this product? It was the only tartare we’d buy but not anymore. Nothing about the product said it had changed to include cayenne pepper. It is no longer tartare sauce it completely overpowers any fish. Come on Unilever admit the mistake and put it back to the original recipe. Read the negative reviews and acknowledge the delisting of this product by the high street supermarkets.
Why?
I agree with everyone else, this was by far my favourite tartare sauce for years until the recipe changed. Now it is terrible.
Why oh why oh why?
This was always on my favourites list but would now be 0 stars if it would let me. I dont get the change in recipe from one of the best prepared tartare sauces on the market to this monstrosity! Im guessing it is a change by Maille and not just Ocado switching products. You can tell when a manufacturer has messed up when you can see the old version for sale on Ebay!
