Tasting Notes
This classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is deliciously pure, bursting with tropical aromas of grilled pineapple and passionfruit. The palate is zesty and concentrated with ripe citrus fruit, blackcurrant leaf and a hint of fresh basil
History
Matua wine is now enjoyed here in New Zealand and around the world - but we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Bill and Ross Spence. Armed with lots of Kiwi ingenuity and determination, these brothers set out to revolutionise the New Zealand wine industry. Ultimately, when they produced New Zealand's first Sauvignon Blanc, they changed the way the world drinks Sauvignon Blanc
Regional Information
Marlborough is the most famous wine region in NZ thanks to the incredibly unique style of Sauvignon Blanc it produces. But there's a lot more to Marlborough than just crisp, fresh and zesty Sauvy! Its cool climate is turning out some pretty impressive Pinot Noir filled with red fruit flavours, citrusy Chardonnay and beautifully floral, aromatic Pinot Gris and Riesling

Vinification Details
We pick our Sauvignon Blanc grapes from over 100 vineyards across Marlborough, encompassing the Wairau and Awatere Valley sub-regions. We
processed the Sauvignon Blanc parcels at the winery in batches before cool fermentation in stainless steel with our ¿house style¿ yeasts. Then the wine was left to sit on light lees to build texture and a luscious mouth feel

Such a strange vinegary chemical taste, really disappointing, tastes absolutely nothing like a NZ sav Blanc! Even smelt dreadful

Vinegar!

Extremely disappointed with this after liking the 75cl bottle. Undrinkable, went down the sink, guests left it. Highly acidic, unpleasant aftertaste, almost a bitter tartness. Usually, I don’t cook with any wine that I wouldn’t drink, red or white, and this wasn’t good enough even to put in a soup or casserole. It seemed a good price before we tried it. Wished I’d asked for a refund.

Musty

This tasted like a cross between a musty cellar and a dank basement. With a bit of graphite pencil. I wanted to like it, but I wont buy it again, despite the conveniently sized box.
