Regional Information
Langhorne Creek is located in the outstanding soils and climate of the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia. Alluvial soils coupled with good rainfall ensure the rich deep soil profile is maintained for even vine growth. The climate is warm during the days and then much cooler at night due to evening maritime breezes rapidly cooling temperatures. The plentiful water supply, rich soils and cooling night time temperatures make this region perfect for full bodied reds such as Shiraz and Cabernet.

Vinification Details
The fruit was picked from low yielding vineyards in Langhorne Creek. It is hand picked, crushed and then allowed to cold steep for 3 days in a small open vat. It was then fermented at an average of 22 degrees celcius for 7 days before being pressed off into barrels for malo-lactic fermentation and maturation. The wine was left in oak for 18 months before being bottled giving wonderful oak influence.

Disappointing

Really looking forward to this, not cheap, so a real treat. Love McGuigan's Black Label, so had high hopes for this, but its just not for me. Tasted like the Elderberry Homebrew I made in the 1980's, harsh acidic flavour. I left it to breath over night just incase, but still the same, such a shame.
