Mortlach 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl
£52
£74.29 per litreProduct information
“The Wee Witchie” is the smallest of our six stills. Since it was first forged more than 120 years ago we have fastidiously ensured every dent and detail remains unchanged because it is within this copper chamber that the specific richness of taste which has earned Mortlach the reputation as “The Beast of Dufftown” is created.
We dedicate this 12 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky to the still that bears the beast. It has been double cask matured in both European and American oak to enhance the distinctively rich and robust character that makes Mortlach whiskies legendary.

"Its character harks back to a time when whiskies were bigger, bolder, darker.
It is the earthy, meaty roots of Speyside. Its flavour is not what people expect from Speyside but it is a flavour which is gaining in popularity – and is rarely found.
At the foundation of many famous blends is this throwback to the old days, to days before Dufftown even existed.
It is the dark reduction of whisky to some primal essence.” Dave Broom, Whisky Writer

Not a Mortlach
A Fauna and Flora this definitely not, since this distillery has changed hands it has gone on a downward spiral. Never again will I buy this rubbish.
Very pleasant
We were sent this to review. Surprisingly fruity, very smooth and easy to drink. As its slightly stronger than a standard whisky would recommend adding a splash of water to open it up a bit.
smooth it is not
We were sent this product to review. Expecting a pleasant burn over ice, but perhaps a little rough. Without loosing any of its oak spiciness perhaps best as a mixer, my uncle decided.
Wonderful
We received this product free to review. My husband thoroughly enjoyed this smooth flavoursome whisky. A lovely treat.
Perfect for occasion drinking
I was sent this for review by Ocado. Extremely smooth, helped by having with ice. A little woody, but not excessively so. Some elements of citrus. Perhaps a little expensive for a mainstream whisky, but worth the price. The type of thing you'd have on a nice evening after a really long day – relaxing and drinking this is the perfect combination.
warm, and very much recommended
we loved this, highly recommend, warm and complex
