Large bunch of great sized asparagus

Was pleased to find a large bunch of thin-to medium sized spears rather than large and tough one, super fresh and perfect in our chicken risotto.

BIG FAT ASPARAGUS

Left a review previously about inconsistency and tiny think spindly stalks - now it's the other way - 5 stalks that were sooo thick - have never seen such wide stalks. Ridiculous. Tough and tasteless

All huge stalks

These didn't resemble normal bunches of asparagus. We got a bunch of 5 massive thick stalks that I had to slice in half lengthways to cook. I still ended up throwing away too much from the woody end.

Badly Harvested Mexican Source

In the packs i bought mid august, the weight/cost makes them seem like good value, but the spears are harvested too deeply and I was finding that at least 25% of the thicker spears was going to waste as being fibrous.
