Our Red Tractor-certified cheese has a strong, full-flavoured and tangy flavour. It's hand-made, matured and packaged at an award-winning family farm in Somerset, who've been producing cheese since 1952.

Perfect for an array of dishes including sandwiches, toasties, pasta, mac 'n' cheese and pasties.

The lengthy maturation of this cheddar can result in white spots and crunchy calcium lactate crystals. These are hallmarks typically found in the best quality mature cheddars.

Too Strong

reading the reviews, there's lots of different opinions! I always liked this cheese, but the last one I got was so strong my tongue came up in weals! One for extreme cheddar eaters only!

At Last Real Cheese

This is the best cheese i have tasted for years. It is delicious. It tasted like real mature cheese. It was moist and delightfully crumbly, it cut easily, and was so nice I kept eating more and more. Such a change from the hard, unyielding solid block normally available, that is so difficult to cut..Thank you Ocado. I shant be buying any other cheese in future.

Very crumbly and very very mild

This is probably okay for grating but trying to cut slices did not work. It is also very mild with a sour taste. It's fine if you want a mild cheese but bland if you were expecting a sharp (not sour tasting) extra mature cheddar.

Very variable quality

I've had blocks of the Ocado Extra Mature that were very nice, one block that was so salty as to be virtually inedible, but the majority of them are ok tasting but much too mild to be "Extra Mature", barely qualifying as "Mature" in terms of taste. If you get a good batch, it's pretty good, but the majority of the batches I've had weren't great. Probably going to steer clear of it in future.

Much tastier than I expected.

I didnt expect much from an Ocado own brand cheese but this was very creamy and nutty. Tasted like a more expensive cheese.
