perfect for a quick healthy meal
I was thrilled to discover these for when I dont have time to soak and boil dried lentils. I fried garlic, onions, tomatoes and curry powder and then added coconut milk. Delicious and ready in 20 mins!
Bland, even just as a base
We received these free from Ocado to review. Appreciate the convenience and ease to turn this into a meal, but we found that even with a lot of flavourings added, the product was just a bit dull and uninspiring. We've made dahls from scratch easily before that have huge depth of flavour, but sadly these fell flat.
Maybe no need for them?
I got these to review. I use dry lentils usually and I honestly dont know why Id buy these instead. They are completely bland as they are, so need to be added into a dish to cook, in which case adding dry ones would be as easy/cheaper. Maybe Im missing something so giving them an average star review as maybe other people have better ways to use them!
Nice but expensive
I was given these to review. We eat a lot of pulses , and these were a pleasant addition to a mid week meal , but very much dearer in cost ( if I had paid for them ) than using dried chana dal . The plastic sachet cant be recycled either.
Useful standby
I was given this to review by Ocado. We frequently eat pulses at home and these were tasty with a nice bite to them. They would be useful to keep a pack to hand in cases of emergency or when short of time, but they are expensive compared to Chana that need cooking. Would recommend them quality wise but not price wise.
Healthy Snack
I have this as a healthy snack option. Heat and then sprinkle chopped coriander, chill and garlic flakes. Delicious!
