Opawa Marlborough Pinot Gris 2022
This wine is pale straw in colour with a fragrant bouquet showing pear and floral aromas with a hint of spice. The palate shows lime, pear and white peach flavours with a generous but soft finish. Opawa Pinot Gris is a versatile food wine and matches well with a variety of dishes - especially lightly spiced Asian influenced cuisine.
Here in Marlborough, classic Rapaura gravels absorb the sun's warmth during the day, radiating back onto the grapes by moonlight, to create the intense aromatic flavours for which Marlborough is so highly reputed.
Made from grapes sourced principally from Wairau Valley floor vineyards, the fruit was hand harvested and whole bunch pressed using a long slow cycle. A cool tank fermentation followed, using an aromatic yeast. After a short period on yeast lees the wine was clarified and filtered prior to bottling in June 2022
Alc. 12.5% Vol.

Really lovely
Lovely wine, which tasted possibly best after having been open in the fridge for 3 days... could have been my imagination but it was definitely still excellent to drink. Gorgeous wine!

This is one of the loveliest wines Ive ever had. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. Very smooth and enjoyable and not too acidic.

Delicious
Not big wine drinkers but splashed out for this rather unusual Christmas. Very pleased I did - delicious, no acidity, lots of fruit flavours. Very very drinkable.
