Organic Polenta is a gluten-free maize meal typical of the North of Italy. What do we mean by the Joy of Real Food? Simple. Our polenta from the depths of the Po Valley Italy, is a golden canvas of comfort. Crafted from finely ground cornmeal, it simmers to creamy perfection or crisps into rustic slices. Store in a cool dry place.

Preparation and Usage

Salt and bring water to the boil- 200ml per 50g. Slowly pour in pack contents and keep stirring over a medium heat until the mixture thickens. Remove after 3 minutes. Season to taste, flavour with sliced or grated cheese.

Another split package

I've had quite a few damaged packages from ocado recently (multiple bags of stock also) and its getting a bit frustrating. I have no idea when it burst and as someone with allergies that makes me reluctant to salvage the leftover product. I've used this polenta before and it's pretty good but bit frustrated to keep getting split packaging on expensive products.

Useful alternative

Great alternative to mashed potato. Heaven for those of us who can't eat potato due to Nightshade allergies. Goes really well with gravy!

Good product but dodgy handling

Today's order included a 500g pack of Organico Quick Polenta. Its the polenta I much prefer. But this pack showered polenta everywhere as I took it out of the Ocado bag. A little polenta goes a long way on a kitchen floor. I suppose robots pick but don't notice? I've had a split bag of biona polenta too, so it must occur in handling, not manufacture

The closest I found to the real thing

Coming from a place where people eat polenta every day, it's been difficult to find a product that helps me get to that taste and consistency I expect polenta to have. This is doing the job for me.

Useful

Great gluten free ingredient..I used for orange polenta cake but now see it has many uses..bought buy one get one free..

great in pizza

I mainly use this in granular form to add to pizza flour. Gives a fab crunch to the base. I also use in place of breadcrumbs on chicken or fish and also to add crunch to roast potatoes. Its a fabulous versatile product I use weekly.
