Fresh and fruity taste
Makes lovely toasties because of the olive oil and the pepper flavour is very deep and fruity because the peppers used were obviously very ripe.
Wasn’t impressed
Had it with a flat bread. First bite was ok, very oily but as I carried on eating it got very salty and had a bit of a chemical aftertaste. The pepper was insipid, over powered by the salty. Might be nice if cooked with but it’s meant to be a spread/dip so if I was going to cook with it I would just make roasted peppers and add a little lemon and olive oil. Quite pricy as well. Not for me even though this is the sort of flavours that I enjoy.
50\/50
I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I wouldn't normally buy this as I'm not keen on things like this but I knew my daughter is. So when she got back from Uni she tried some on dried flatbreads and she made spag bol which I tried and liked. She recommends it.
Lovely delicate vegan spread
Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample fromOcado. I couldn't wait to try this as I've been searching for good vegan spreads. It comes in a lovely cute jar. It contains all natural ingredients that you might find in your own kitchen so no nasty additives. The colour was slightly paler than I expected, but that's generally a good sign as no artificial colourings. It seemed a little oily when I opened the jar, but I think this would make it excellent for use with pasta as the texture is reminiscent of pesto making it very versatile. It didn't have a strong smell, just a delicate aroma of red peppers. I tested it with some crusty bread and vegan butter and it was delicious! It makes a change to have a vegan/vegetarian spread that isn't spicy. I found it incredibly moreish, in fact, I've added it to my next order and I will definitely be buying it regularly. It keeps for 10 days once opened, which is fantastic as you have plenty of time to enjoy the whole jar!
not my normal buy
Im reviewing this as I got it free from Ocado ,it is not my normal buy and I probably wouldnt buy again not because it wasnt nice but Its not my thing I would buy.It was nice on toast with some cheese but I could live without it
lovely spread but costly
Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. We found this spread to be delicious, enjoyed it on toast instead of our usual Saturday morning pesto and used the rest in a spaghetti sauce. Both uses were tasty and enjoyable however I am in agreement with other reviewers that the product is rather oily. Additionally, the jar is quite small for the price but I would repurchase if the item was on offer.
