matter of taste
bought as a surprise for a husband who is a huge whiskey fan, it's hard to find one that he has not tried yet, and this one is probably the only one that he has not really enjoyed. it's hard to describe its taste, it's kind of smoked, and it's not a benefit, more like a charred dirty branch from a fire, if it makes sense
Paint Stripper
This is without doubt the worst whisky I have EVER tasted (and whisky is my tipple of choice). It tastes nothing like whisky, nor anything I have ever encountered. I bought 2 bottles and immediately requested a refund after the first sip. It was completely undrinkable!
Not for me
I was hoping this would be even better than the Pogues blended version, I was disappointed. Weirdly the aroma from the bourbon casks gave hints of rotten vegetable, not what I'm looking for in a whiskey. The blend they offer is the one I would recommend.
Lovely!
Very smooth....really enjoyed this!
Not my kind of whiskey
I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I love a good whiskey, and especially one I can have in an old fashioned. Unfortunately this just wasn’t for me. It has a really overpowering sweetness which gave it an odd taste. I reckon if you like drinks like Baileys (which I don’t) this might be something for you.
Nothing special
I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. It's trading off a name but didn't find it anything special and couldn't pick up the tasting notes expected. Might buy on a special offer but no better than some blended malts
