Hard bread
I mistakenly bought this instead of the normal Poilane sourdough bread. Boy, it's super hard. I'm not sure if that's how the brad is or if Ocado is getting rid of stale bread but I won't recommend this particular sourdough. Their normal sourdough brand is fine. This one is almost like trying to bite through rock.
love!
Very interesting flavour and I really like the slightly tougher texture. Also very filling versus other breads
too salty
Just chewy and salty.
Sliced is good.
Now that it's sliced, most of the criticism can be neglected. Texture and flavour are excellent. The price will put off many, of course. It lasts well over two days. (Most dark sourdoughs last a week in a cool place, and of course it can be frozen and taken out in batches.)
Not for those with fragile teeth
Very, very tough bread. Maybe it's supposed to be like this, but that doesn't make it edible. On the plus side, I probably used up the calories of one slice trying to cut it off the loaf.
Well under weight and tough as old boots!
This is an expensive loaf of bread so I was expecting great things, but they appear to have a serious problem with their recipe. The promised weight is 450 grams, but this arrived at 364 grams including the packaging. It's absolutely tiny and rock hard, like it hasn't risen at all. Have requested a refund, and suggest Ocado review this for quality control. Would give zero stars if it were an option!
