Santa Tresa's organic philosophy encourages local wildlife: wild rabbits feed on the grass that we let grow between the vines to create our very own "biodiversity"
At Santa Tresa we respect and encourage nature which in return allows us to produce great wine that really is more than just organic, it's also unique!

Organic wine
Vegan friendly
At Santa Tresa we don’t use pesticides! Not even organic. We only use very limited amount of Sulphur and Copper in the vineyard. Instead of manure (these are vegan wines after all!) we fertilise their vines using Favino that is fava bean that we grow ourselves and is extremely effective. We use a whole host of methods to combat diseases, like sexual confusion to treat the Tignola moth, and a variety of Bacillus that is a natural defence against several diseases like moths and mildew.

Tasting Notes
Rina Russa has a unique style, as the Frappato grapes come from ancient clones developed on our estate. It has a beautiful light cherry colour, with a vibrant bouquet of strawberries and a beautifully balanced palate, with silky smooth fruit.
History
Santa Tresa was established in 1697 and is located on a plain, with the Dirillo river to the north, Iblei mountains to the east and open sea to the south and west. Wine has shaped the lives of the people of Vittoria, who have lived and breathed the culture for over 3,000 years. The symbol is an important part of the brand represents “Sun and Gold” and dates back to medieval times. Sun and Gold are very much associated with Sicily - a land blessed by “golden light”.

Vinification Details
The grapes are chilled overnight at a temperature of 6-8°C, in order to preserve the particular qualities of the Frappato. After a gentle destemming and crushing, grapes are fermented at a temperature of 18-22°C for 10-12 days. The wine is separated from the skins and malolactic fermentation takes place naturally. After malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is kept on its fine lees for 4-6 months in stainless steel tanks, with regular stirring, before bottling.

Nice light summer wine
Lovely light red wine, perfect on a hot day. Very easy to drink.

pale and poor taste
We were very disappointed with this wine. The colour was pale, it was very weak bodied and had a horrible taste.

NOT GOOD
Thin, pink and vinegary. Not at all pleasant.

watery and tasteless
Absolutely no body. Cerasuolo from the same brand is much better.

Light
This looks like Ribena, but it's a nice wine. It's fruity and doesn't have a nasty aftertaste. I'd buy this again.
