Very refreshing and crisp
This is an excellent lager, doesn't have the bite of Stella with the alcohol still in, but it's close. Wish this was stocked in pubs rather than the awful Becks Blue that is so often the only alcohol free lager on offer.
I now prefer to the alcoholic version!
I started getting this as a way of being sociable without consuming alcohol and I now prefer it to the real thing! Great taste and refreshing.
Boring..
Too little taste for me.
A flat, sweet, yellow barley soft drink
Received as a substitution for another alcohol free beer I had wanted to try. This tasted like what I have come to expect most alcohol free beers, especially those made by big breweries, to taste like. It is a flat, sweet, yellow barley soft drink. There is something that seems artificial about its yellow colour, and there is something syrupy and synthetic about its mouthfeel and sweetness. It has a hint of maltiness, as though to reassure us that the beverage is indeed made from malted barley, as is the case with beer. Even though I'm sure malted barley went into the making of this, a quick check of the ingredients list also reveals that sugar went into it, something real beer does not need to add in as a separate ingredient (outside of the sugar released from malted barley during the brewing process). Sugar is something that good low alcohol and alcohol free beers don't typically need to add in to deliver on the flavour, look, and mouthfeel fronts. This drink is awful and represents the majority of low alcohol and alcohol free beers out there, in flavour, look, and texture. People are free to enjoy this drink in its own right, as it appears many of its reviewers do, but this drink is nothing like beer, and so should not be referred to as one.
Really good
I'm trying not to drink alcohol during the week and so am trying different alcohol free beers. Peroni is really good, but this is definitely as good as that. And in the £7 for two offer, it's really good value. I'll be buying more.
Just like the real thing
Ive struggled to find alcohol free lager that I enjoy however this tastes almost like normal Stella but with about half the calories and none of the alcohol. Will be buying again.
