Health warning.
This is a highly processed product and all the benefits of the fructan naturally found in agave have been removed by the processing into syrup (this is nothing like the traditiional Mexican "miel de agave"). This syrup (as all processed agave syrups) ends up with VERY high residual fructose, which while having a lower GI than table sugar, is still harmful. Excess fructose can wreak havoc on your metabolic health and may contribute to insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes... so "health benefits" are minimal, if at all ...
I like it
bought for a more authentic mango and avocado Mexican salsa dressing.Ive not tried agave before so didnt know what to expect but it made a lovely sweet dressing.
Not Great
Tastes like cane sugar syrup not Agave. Back to my usual brand.
Lovely and versatile
This is a really lovely syrup that is an excellent alternative to honey which can be too sweet. We use it in drinks, on pancakes, in yogurt and porridge etc. A little goes a long way and a bottle lasts for ages.
Tasty
Great alternative to honey
balanced sweet taste
I like to use this to sweeten black tea or other drinks.
