sauce was horrible didn't really add to much to the fish, and the bass itself was alright but it won't be a repeat purchase
Basa, the new name for Catfish
Thank you Ocado for introduicing me to the disgusting taste and texture of Vietnamese Catfish, handily renamed the nicer sounding 'Basa'. Its texture reminded me of a fibrous bit of carpet, unlike any other fish I have ever eaten, and I have travelled the world. I was unable to finish this delight, such was the revulsion, almost as awful as eating tongue- something I only tried once. No matter how strong the flavour of the Teriaki sauce, it cannot distract from the taste of this fish, which one can only imagine was once swimming in some muddy, polluted, Vietnamese river farm. Good luck if you want to try this.
tasty , quick and easy to cook
Even though its a serving for 2 , I ate the whole packet. Basa fish is very easy to cook and eat, no skin and no bones. I pan fried it for a few mins each side and drizzled the teriyaki sauce on top. Simple, easy and tasty ! the only negative I feel is that its not enough for 2 servings
ok but could be better
The smell is lovely, basa is an acquired taste and I do like it. I cooked this in the oven in a fish bag and it was ok but I think it could be a thicker sauce.
