Tasting Notes
This slightly sparkling wine has a fresh zippy acidity and is bursting with citrus fruits, pears and crisp green apple.
History
The oldest known winemakers in the area, the Tueka-Etxaniz family has been making wine here since 1649, tending impossibly beautiful vineyards that slope majestically down towards the sea. Today it is still very much a family affair, with 13 of the 16 employees being family members.
Regional Information
Even amongst wine lovers, few people are familiar with the northern Spanish DO of Getaria Txakolina, home to unpronounceable wines and grape varieties unlike any others.

Vinification Details
The native grape varieties are hand harvested in the Autumn , and are vinified in stainless steel tanks. The wines are kept on lees until bottling and keep a slight spritz, enhanced by the tradition of pouring with a flourish from a height.

Delicious pour from a height slightly saline, not for the basics

unexpected new favourite
I think I tried this following a review in the magazine when it was on offer. Its absolutely delicious - if I could afford to drink it every week I would. Really dont understand the poor reviews

Awful
Ocado should not sell such an awful drink. It tastes horrible.

bitter taste
I had to throw this away as it tasted so bitter and was undrinkable.

unexpected great wine
Bought this as part of an offer. Wasnt sure what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised by an amazing wine. Very lightly sparkling, so dont expect a Prosecco style wine. A light summer drink with citrus tones but not overly sharp. Highly recommend and will be buying again.
