I find that cooking these in a remoska cooker is the best way to get the pieces of fish hot throughout and crispy on the outside. Very tasty with curry sauce, chips and mushy peas
This used to be perfectly good frozen fish, but having not pitched it for a while I recently bought a box and oh my, has the quality gone downhill! Mushy thin grey fish with very little flavour - an embarrassment to even call it fish. Wont be buying again unless quality improves!
VILE. NOTHING LIKE PICTURE
I usually buy own brand chunky haddock in batter from M & S, but was doing an Ocado shop and these were on offer so I bought two packs. I have only had one and the rest will be thrown away. They were truly awful. The fish was half an inch thick at the most and greyish in colour and tasteless, the batter VERY greasy. Extremely disappointing, I will never buy them again. Total waste of money. I have had to complain about Youngs products before. They used to be a reliable brand, but not any more.
Agree with previous reviewer, pm7. My fish was a thin layer of very grey fish.
Declined in quality
After having purchased these for several years, the fish has recently declined in quality to the point where what was previously the occasional patch of grey or mushy fish has become the norm. The last few instances have been consistently inedible.
Lovely fish and batter
We love to have these as a staple in our freezer, and it's always a winner. Loses a star as the base is a bit soggy sometimes.
