Originated in China but has become very popular in Japan, gyoza is found nationwide at ramen shops, izakaya (Japanese bar) and Japanese homes. In Japan, the most common way of enjoying gyoza is pan fry, called yaki gyoza, perfect as an appetiser or party food. It can also be enjoyed deep fried, steamed or added to soups.

Really didnt enjoy it
Its really doughy and the filling little and mushy. Although the shape retained well after boiling, with that mushy and bland flavoured filling, if just felt like biting into an empty doughy bag. So far from the usual vegetarian dumplings in Asia, which is packed with very flavourful vegetable mix filling.
Freezer staple at home
These are delicious. Im chinese and have tried a lot of different dumplings and gyoza. These are a great meat alternative without compromising on flavour and texture!
Delicious
We are a half Asian, mainly veggie household, so Asian food is eaten a lot around here. We have tried and tested a lot - these are a winner.
The best veggie/ vegan dumplings on ocado
Great flavour, great size, great texture, great cooking times (in different ways) Boil for 4 mins and have with chilli oil, dark soy and rice vinegar! Use in gyoza soup! Have as a side dish!! Always got some in the freezer BUY THEM!
Best gyoza on Ocado, including the meat ones, imho
Excellent texture and taste. Ive tried a wide range of gyoza including most Ocado offer, vegan, veggie and those containing meat and these to me have the best texture and taste. Very moorish. I see a few reviewers described them as tasteless: I cant understand how they can say that because I found them to be delicious and tasty simply steamed on their own.
Not for me, but they are authentic
I like the other gyoza in this range and when cooked as per the instructions, are fairly authentic. But this particular flavour just isnt for me. It had a strange aftertaste. Others clearly disagree so still worth a try.
