
Spicy Pork Yakisoba

A classic Osaka street food with a spicy twist. The spicy and savoury sauce compliments the fried pork and yakisoba noodles perfectly.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of pepper
- 0.5 cabbage, chopped into 2cm x 2cm
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
- 6 spring onion, cut into batons
- 1 handful of shitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 200 g of frozen shelled edamame
- 500 g of yakisoba noodles
- 1 heaped tsp of nanami paste
- 1 tbsp of japanese pink pickled radish
- 300 g of pork loin, cut into thin strips
- 1 brown onion, peeled and sliced
- 4 tbsp of yakisoba sauce
- 1 tbsp of nori seaweed sprinkle
Method
Step 1
On a high heat, pour a glug of vegetable oil into a pan. Add the pork and season with salt and pepper. Cook until cooked through. Transfer to a plate.Step 2
Into the same pan, add the vegetables, season with salt and pepper and fry until cooked. Return the pork to the pan.Step 3
Add the yakisoba noodles and carefully separate the noodles.Step 4
Add the yakisoba sauce and Nanami paste. Stir until sauce has combined well with the other ingredients.Step 5
Transfer the spicy pork yakisoba onto a plate.Step 6
Sprinkle the green nori seaweed on top of the yakisoba and garnish with the pickled radish.
