
Spicy roasted chick peas

Roast a tin of chickpeas
in a selection of your favourite spices for a healthy snack that also makes a
great topping for salads, soups and dhals.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- 0.5 tsp of paprika
- 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
- 400 g of chick peas
- 2 tsp of curry powder
- 0.5 tsp of ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp of salt
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas 6.Step 2
Drain, rinse and thoroughly pat dry 1 x 400g tin chick peas. To make sure they really crisp up in the oven leave them to air for 10 mins and pat dry again, if you have time.Step 3
Transfer to a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and place in the oven for 15 mins.Step 4
In a bowl, mix the olive oil, curry powder, cumin, paprika, salt and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Remove the chick peas from the oven, tip into the bowl and coat with the spices.Step 5
Spread them back out on the baking tray and roast for another 20 mins, until crunchy.
