Product information

The California Gold Rush was a period of courage, bravado and curiosity. I craft Gold Rush Red with these characteristics in mind. The grapes used to blend this bold wine are carefully selected from the golden hills and valleys of California. It is finished in Bourbon barrels, which complements this rich wine with notes of charred vanilla and dried herbs.

Our Gold Rush Red is a fruit-forward blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir. Each varietal in this powerful, lush red wine plays a part in the flavour profile: Merlot lends ripe raspberry and blackberry fruit, Zinfandel brings the spice, the wine's inky purple hue and pleasing minerality are compliments of Pinot Noir. The creation of this well-structured blend culminates in bourbon-barrel aging, giving the wine a finish of charred vanilla and dried herbs

Individual lots for this intriguing wine started with the dry-farmed, head-trained Zinfandel vines from Mendocino County, Lodi and Paso Robles Vineyards.

Vinification Details
A blend of classic California varietals, including Merlot, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel, this layered offering balances ripe, juicy red fruit with heady notes of spice box and char. In signature 1000 Stories fashion, Gold Rush Red was aged in traditional French and American oak, with a portion finished in charred bourbon barrels before the final blend was assembled

I am reviewing g this because I got a free voucher from Ocado . This wine was lovely though I am not sure Id pay full price for it . It is a good blend of grapes and easy to drink

deliciously rich

Im reviewing this because I received a free sample from Ocado. Really delicious. Its rich - rather like a Malbec but is fruity and smooth. Ive knocked a star off because its quite expensive

Extremely quaffable

Received this to review...what a pleasant surprise it was too. Everyone at the dinner table said they would drink it again. So guess I'll have to order more bottles. It's smooth on the palate and has complex flavours . Married very well with a rich dinner . Try it
