Brewed for those who know...
"Gem has a rich aroma of hops and malt, with a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. An exceptional best bitter."
...And those who don't.
Here at Bath Ales, we brew Gem using floor-malted Maris Otter barley and Goldings hops from East Kent.
There fine ingredients, together with our brewers' skill and passion, have helped to make Gem a quintessential English beer.
Fine filtered for quality.

delicious and gluten free!
Oddly, the bottles that have arrived are clearly marked as gluten free in the wording and with the crossed grain. The labelling on the website shows nowhere that these are gluten free. However, the ale is delicious and a definite favourite here.
Good , malty, old fashioned ale
The aquisition of Bath Ales by St Austell seems to have helped both breweries up their respective games with Bath improving on theier already good ales and St Austell being able to experiment with their small batches. Either way this is a very nice Ale and the pick of Baths non-New world (IPAs and Pale Ales) beers

Average but OK
This for me was just ok, it wasnt bad or exceptional just average.
Quality
All of Bath Ales brews are nice but this is my fave. A very easy to drink ale with a nice subtle aftertaste. I'm hoping Ocado will start stocking more from Bath Ales, especially their Ginger Hare.
