Delicious broth great base for gravy
I use this as a base for my gravy in my slow pot or any meaty or veggie meal, absolutely delicous and the pearl barley has a lovely chew. Adds that something that is missing in a vegetable lasagna with the passata. Compelled to but whenever on offer
Why is this called bone broth?
I see Baxters have jumped on the band wagon of bone broth. Why call this soup 'Bone Broth with . . . . '. There's only bone broth extract in it, and less than 2% at that! Very misleading.
lovely
great broth personally like a bit of salt and pepper with it
Bland
Edible, but bland. Needs a pinch of salt & lots of cracked black pepper. Wouldn't buy again
Love it!
I love chunky soups and this one is just perfect! The barley have a nice bite and it tastes delicious! Great for a light lunch or as a little starter for dinner
Hearty but not heavy
This really is a broth rather than a thick or creamy soup, with rich meaty/umami flavours. I didn't detect a huge amount of mushroom but there are some nice tender pieces of root veg, and the pearl barley still has some chewy 'bite' to it. If you like onion soup, consommé or Baxter's Royal Game, you'll probably enjoy this. Probably perfect if you have a cold and can't face anything too heavy. It's nicely seasoned but even better with a bit more salt and pepper to taste. Not the cheapest, but I'll be stocking up. Note to Baxters – any chance of a chicken bone broth for this range? (Maybe with ginger and garlic?)
