Delicious
We are big cheese fans and my husband is Dutch. He absolutely loves this cheese. I think the previous reviewer likes younger cheeses but if you like mature gouda - this is a real treat
Far Better Beemsters Out There
By chance I discovered Beemster in my local posh supermarket chain and loved it. It then seemed to disappear so I was pleased to find this on Ocado. What a disappointment. It's very hard against the knife when cutting, and seems all salt and little taste although you do get a tiny sense of the vintage. Accompanying it with some apple, grapes or a celery stick does nothing to mitigate this, nor enhance the flavour. Also, it's £4 per kilo more than the aforementioned. A pity.
so tasty
Excellent Gouda. Great taste!
Love aged Gouda
I absolutely love aged Gouda. Fell in love with it from my many trips to Amsterdam. It can be quite hard to find in the UK, and they're expensive due to importation. But totally worth it! Hard, tangy, bit crunchy, beautiful cheese! Nothing like normal/baby Gouda, it's aged, so don't expect the soft, very mild taste of regular Gouda. Think of the difference between mild and extra mature cheddar. It's the same.
Delicious
Expensive, but a delicious treat. The flavour is very intense so a little goes a long way
Expensive
Good flavour hard to find aged Gouda in the UK... but expensive for what it is
