Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough Vanilla Ice Cream Tub 465ml
Product information
We used to have a bulletin board where people could suggest new flavours for Jerry & Ben to make — and this idea stood out. The folks at the Scoop Shop immediately went to work mixing up a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough. It was an instant hit.
Initially, the flavour was only available at the Scoop Shop. When we decided to sell it in tubs as a frozen dessert, we had to figure out how to get that familiar cookie-dough taste, consistency and texture at ice cream temperatures.
We teamed up with local producer Rhino Foods and, over an incredible six-year journey, we perfected the cookie dough found in our tubs today.
In 1991, Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream tubs began appearing in freezer aisles everywhere. It has remained one of our most popular and beloved flavours ever since!
We work with Fairtrade certified producers for cocoa, sugar and vanilla, and our caring dairy farmers produce the milk and cream in this tub sustainably.
All of our ice cream is made with free-range eggs, and we use responsibly sourced packaging.

In 1986, following a tip from a fan, we pondered putting cookie dough in our ice cream. But our machines couldn't handle those big chunks of dough. We had to hand-cut the chunks & throw them into the vanilla ice cream! 5 years later, applying a few secret techniques, we found chunk feeder perfection. 20 years on, we made this fan-favourite Fairtrade too! Happy days!

Something is seriously wrong
Stale, tasteless, crumbly. I dont know whats happened, but this is not right.
Hard and crumbly
I used to love Cookie Dough but recently something has gone wrong somewhere, its rock hard and crumbly, not soft like it used to be. Its very unappealing and has put me off buying it.
Rock solid
Like others have said, it's like a brick. Impossible to get a scoop out of the tub. It's like it's too frozen!
Inedible!
I bought one of these from Ocado several weeks ago and, as others said, there is something very wrong with it. It just did not defrost. I presumed it was a faulty batch and that Ocado would have rectified the issue by now, but no, I purchased it again last week (totally forgetting the problem we'd had last time) they are still selling a product that countless people have told them is inedible. Shame on you Ocado!
Poor quality control
I've been eating this ice cream for years, but in the past few months it has been inedible because it never defrosts. I can leave it out for 45 minutes and it's still hard as a rock. I don't have this issue with any other Ben and Jerry's ice cream or any other product. There is something wrong with this flavour specifically. Shame because it used to taste great.
Inedible
I don't know what's happened to this, but as others have said serving it is like trying to chip concrete. After leaving it out for 15 minutes to no effect I ended up committing a cardinal sin and putting it in the microwave for a short burst, which at least rendered it able to be served, but at great pain to my soul. Nothing like as good as it used to be, would not recommend.
