105ml vegetable oil (Tbsp) or 100g melted butter
200ml water or 200ml milk
3 Medium eggs
100g melted butter
1 tub of Betty Crocker™ Rich Cream Cheese Style or Velvety Vanilla Icing (icing is not included)

Baking time 23-28 mins
Two 20cm cake tins or Two 12 cupcake muffin tins (and 24 cupcake cases)
3 Simple steps!
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C for fan assisted ovens)/Gas Mark 4. For cupcakes use fan assisted oven 160°C.
Grease tins and preferably line base with baking parchment or greaseproof paper. For cupcakes line 2 regular muffin tins with cupcake cases.
1. Beat the eggs, water, oil and cake mix (or eggs, milk, butter and cake mix) together and whisk (by hand or electric mixer) for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
2. Pour into tins. For cupcakes pour mixture into the cupcake cases.
3. Bake 23-28 minutes or until a rounded knife in centre comes out clean. For cupcakes bake the 2 muffin tins at the same time for 18-22 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes in tins then remove from tins. Let to cool completely, fill and ice with Betty Crocker™ Rich Cream Cheese Style Icing or Velvety Vanilla Icing.

All you need is:
65ml vegetable oil (4 1/2 tbsp)
205ml water
3 medium free range eggs
1 tub of Betty Crocker Vanilla or Cream Cheese Style Icing
2 x 8" well-greased cake tins
Only 3 steps to cake heaven...
1. Mix the eggs, oil, water and cake mix gently together and whisk (by hand or electric mixer) for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
2. Pour the cake mixture evenly into your two greased cake tins.
3. Bake in the centre of the oven for between 23-28 minutes or until a rounded knife inserted fully into the centre of the cake comes out clean, then cool on a wire rack. Sandwich your cakes together with a layer of Betty Crocker Vanilla or Cream Cheese Style Icing before covering with lashings of Icing. Then having admired your creation, enjoy a slice....mmmm gorgeous!

why say its vegan Baking bundle
Perhaps the people at OCADO should actually look at labelling and not advertise this as part of a vegan baking bundle when its clearly not as it has milk et cetera. Perhaps its equivalent of saying something else is suitable for vegetarians with chicken in it
quick velvet
Velvet cake is popular for girls (ladies). If you bake it from scratch, sometimes complicated particularly the colour. This is handy! I do whisk eggs till like meringue. That makes very fluffy sponge. Pouring to 2 x small tins (16cm). You can do cream sandwiches like Victoria sponge. Its impressive looking with small effort! Keep in this price!
Light and delicious! But not red
This cake was easy to make. The sponge was really light and tasted delicious. The only reason for 4 stars instead 5 was the colour, it wasn't that familiar red, more of a muddy red.
convenient and easy
My 11 year old make this cake, following instructions on the box. Easy to follow instructions and delicious results. Minimum mess. Recommended.

I used butter and added chestnut purée. It was delicious but I just looked up carmines and I may hesitate to buy this again.
Surprisingly good
Daughter wanted a red velvet cake for her birthday & I decided to cheat as my last cake was a disaster. This cake was light & tasty, so easy! I added extra red colouring, definitely buying again.
