Low Fructose
My son is fructose intolerant, so has to avoid all sorts, including honey and most syrups. I’ve just made a lovely crunchy and chewy flapjack with this.
Excellent healthy alternative to Honey
I don't get the bad reviews, particularly the person who says they don't get the point of it????!! Weird! Well let me tell you - the point of it is that it is a great alternative to the high sugar syrups like honey, maple syrup, golden syrup. I've been using it for years for baking cakes and cookies and it makes the best chewy crispy oat, honey (I use Brown Rice Syrup & Yacon syrup) & spiced fuit cookies. I use it wherever honey or any syrup is required, and you use it spoon for spoon just the same and it acts the same (as far as I've experimented at least). Sugar is absolute poison for the body so we try to go low carb (as carbs turn to sugar!) and we are able to go no-sugar in our house with this product
Not sweet
Don't see the point of this product; it doesn't serve a purpose.
Great alternative to honey or agave syrup
A natural sweetener that’s low fructose so won’t cause a big sugar spike
Low FODMAP sweetener?
I'm not 100% certain but I think this works as a low FODMAP sweetener for those with inflammatory issues. I've been using it in place of honey when a dish needs a bit of sweetness and there isn't time for sugar to dissolve properly. Easy to just grab and squeeze a bit in and lasts for ages as I don't use a lot.
Not what I expected
This is listed as rice malt syrup but it isn't! If you look carefully at the picture you'll see it's plain brown rice syrup. I left it a day too late to get a refund as I only just noticed so I guess I'll have to use it for something. I wish Ocado would stock rice malt syrup - I believe the one I usually get at the health shop is by Clearspring but I'm not allowed out at the moment and it's not worth ordering one jar!
