Odd, for purists only
I wasn't sure what to expect having just seen a photo, but you get half a dozen thin slices like pumpernickel. There the resemblance ends! Now - no gluten, naturally fermented, not full of weird ingredients bar some lecithin, this has a job of work to function like bread and it doesn't really manage it. Pale, floury, crumbly (careful what you spread on it) bit dry ... on the plus side the inclusion of seeds, flavour actually not too bad and surprisingly filling. And if I had to stick to GF pseudograin and was desperate for bread, I might deal with it. But hard to recommend otherwise.
too dry
Very dry and crumbly. Didnt taste of much- couldnt eat it.
Deliciously dark and dense sourdough bread
Our vegetarian family loves this bread. Toasted and topped with pepper spread, avocado, pesto, margarine, eggs, cucumber, yeast paté, miso, houmous, sauerkraut etc. We even snack on it just plain toasted and eaten beside a cup of tea. It has a dense texture and a strong sourdough taste. We have been eating it for years and happily recommend it.
Horrendous!
If I could put no stars I would! What even is this? Has this come out of chernobyl? I have tried many gluten free things along the way but this went straight in the bin! (along with the unopened one as I bought 2 on offer!) £4 in the bin, cost more than the bin it went in! Do not do it to yourself.....................Schar all the way.
The worst gluten free bread I have tried
I normally eat Schar gluten free breads, the one with chestnut flour in is delicious. I had to throw this one away. I tried to toast it but still hated the taste. The Mary Berry recipe for a nordic loaf is worth making if you want lots of seeds and nuts. It's delicious.
Probably makes sense to gluten intolerant people
It's not bread. It feels like plastic and tastes like plastic. I normally buy Biona rye bread, absolutely love it. Bought this millet one out of curiosity.
