Product information
Ah Primitivo; a fun and ever so approachable red wine. This particular variety is from Puglia, in the sunny southern part of Italy. It’s young and juicy, blessed with a softness not often found in red wines, meaning it’s the perfect easy going partner to antipasti or with a slice of pizza.
Oh, and what's in a name? A Bowl Grabber?!? That's someone who holds their glass by the bowl, not the stem. A faux pas I hear you say?!? Yes indeed; because we're for people who love enjoying great wine not endlessly discussing it!
"This is a wonderful red wine for autumn and winter: rich, bold, intense and gloriously tannic. Make sure it has no chill to it when you drink it, as it can taste a bit pinched (as all Primitivo wines will) when cold. Such good value." Nigella Lawson

Serving Suggestions
Making a Primitivo wine is all about hanging onto the attractive fruit character that the variety has naturally. And serving it? Well everyone knows that red wines should be served at room temperature, however on occasion, and especially on warm summer days, our Master of Wine is partial to chilling juicy reds like this down for 30minutes or so in the fridge. Faux pas? You decide.

Vinification Details
The dry sunny conditions in the region of Puglia mean ripe, juicy grapes bursting with flavour are picked at the perfect moment. Making an easy drinking Primitvo means gentle handling, slightly cooler fermentation and careful movement of the skins while in contact with the fermenting juice. Once fermented to dryness everything is allowed to settle down with a small portion spending some time in old oak barrels to add a noticeable but complementary chocolate accent to the rich fruit forward characters.

Integro Organic Primitivo is way better As I spend months in Puglia I know my Primativo vino and this is drinkable but not a good example of this usually tasty everyday wine

Good value
I have been buying this from Getir for a while and am thrilled to see it in the Ocado aisles. Stands out as a good quaffing wine amongst a generally poor Italian selection. Get in some decent nebbiolos!
