A rich and memorable Chardonnay with creamy notes of vanilla
bean, almond and a touch of tropical fruit. Balanced acidity and savoury oak
lead to a long, smooth finish. Food pairing: Roasted vegetables, creamy pasta dishes, grilled white fish, soft cheeses Don’t overthink it. With these Classically California wines, Bread & Butter prides itself on delivering consistency in wine style, assembled to be approachable, easy-drinking and savoury. Bread & Butter's house style is fruit-forward, delicious, and smooth; delivering the true character of the fruit from which the wine is made. The wines themselves are quite complex, layered, and expressive, but delivered in a way that evokes simplicity and those memorable moments you love. As our Award-Winning Veteran Winemaker Linda Trotta says, “A good wine is a wine you like.” "I’ve been searching for a really good white wine for some time and now, at last, I’ve found it! I have to say that I’m rather surprised to find myself plumping for this, as I don’t consider myself a Chardonnay drinker really, but I adore this: it’s got real depth, and a rich smokiness that makes me rather think of it as a white wine for red wine drinkers, but I did wow a Chardonnay fan who came for dinner last week with it, and so I conclude it’s a hit on all fronts. It’s a bit too special to be adding ice and soda water to, but all the same I must tell you that it makes a very superior spritzer. I just love everything about this Californian wine, including its name and its label!"- Nigella Lawson |

I found it odd.
I thought it sounded like a good idea but like some of the other reviews there was an overwhelming punch of oak and vanilla to me that just made it hard to deal with. It took me ages to get through. I felt like it was brandy and wine mixed. Just odd for a chardonnay. Not for everyone.
Custard?
I like chardonnay, and have had bread & butter pinot noir before, and really liked that. But this was a huge disappointment.Tasted like my glass had a shot of vanilla essence added to it. Like pudding, but not in a good way, not when you want a glass of white wine!
Delicious
Really impressed with this - a delicious Chardonnay.
utterly delicious
My new favourite
Grows on you
I've bought this twice now. I wasn't sure about it the first time round but it piqued my interest enough to get it again. I found the first sip quite watery and was then a bit overwhelmed by the oakiness. The second time round I found it's best drunk on the second day. I quite often find wines are. It's very complex and it just tones it down slightly this way. I'm weirdly keen on it now.
Surprisingly mellow and easy to drink
I was offered this wine to taste and review for free from Ocado. I was surprised to find it quite mellow and easy to drink on its own. Equally I enjoyed it with food. I would absolutely recommend and will be buying more in the future
