History
Jean-Marie Calvet establishes the Calvet company in Tain l'Hermitage: (Rhone valley) in 1818. JM Calvet sets up in the heart of Bordeaux in 1823. Jean Calvet, the founder's great-grandson, sets up Calvet in Burgundy in 1889. GCF Group extends the Calvet range into Loire and Alsace appellations in the last 10 years. Specialist in the wines of Bordeaux and selecting the best «cuvées» from other principal French wine areas, Calvet is a French brand, distributed in more than 110 countries.
Regional Information
The Rhone Valley draw its strength from this rich and powerful river, which shapes its landscape and moulds in character. The wines grown between Vienne and Avignon, between the Massif Central, The Alps and the Mediterranean Sea.

French is best?

Ive been drinking New World Shiraz for years, and Id forgotten how good French wine can be. This is a lovely example and very good value. Like the bottle shape and the label too. A regular from now on.

pleasant wine

reviewing this wine as got a free gift from ocado to review. Nice pleasant wine and taste on the palate. most probably won't buy but wouldn't put anyone off getting it.

Great wine

I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. This was surprisingly good … didn’t expect much due to price point but the wine was fruity and flavourful and we really enjoyed it and will purchase! Worth a try for sure!

A good buy

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. We liked this and thought it tasted more expensive than it is. Would make a nice gift. And I love that the bottle is a cool shape and doesnt roll around in the wine holder!

Good wine to compliment cheesy vegetarian lasagne

I am reviewing this as we were sent it free by Ocado. Found this a great wine to drink with a hearty lentil and roast vegetable lasagne. Would definitely buy.
