great on home made pizza
Great as a topping on a homemade pizza using a garlic naan as a pizza base.
No hoisin taste
Disappointed. Texture was ok but didnt taste of hoisin at all and were just rather unpleasant. Would rather buy unflavoured and do it myself
doesn't deliver
I love the idea of this and the ingredient list is ok but it tastes a little bitter and flat
Enjoyable
.....but then I like fennel and most things with the flavour of aniseed . Texture is not unpleasant and for a quick meal I'd definitely buy again. Fat content quite high though, so I doubt that it provides the healthiest protein source.
People seem to love em or hate em
I personally love them... I don't even heat them up, just throw them into salads, soups, or just snack on them. I like the texture and the sweetness, which is I guess what is polarising the reviewers.
Overpowered by sweet FENNEL
This is not hoisin!! The flavour is completely overpowered by sweet fennel, its the only thing I could taste. Its actually like eating a tofu version of sugar coated fennel seeds you can buy from the Indian grocery stores. Doesnt compliment other flavours well if you want to incorporate into a meal with anything other than something like plain rice. I like the other marinated tofu from this range but wont be buying this one again.
