Accompany your Sunday roast with this delicious bread sauce mix of breadcrumbs, dried onion, black pepper and cloves. Simply add milk and butter and simmer for five to seven minutes. Serves 4.

Preparation: 5 mins
Cooking: 7 mins
You Will Need
1 x packet bread sauce mix
400ml milk
10g unsalted butter
Method
1. Empty contents of the sachet into a small saucepan.
2. Stir in 400ml of cold milk and add the butter.
3. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 5-7 mins, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
4. Pour into a bowl and serve immediately.

Great Bread Sauce Mix
I buy this to use as a breadcrumb on pork belly rashers. It is divine, the mix gives the pork a lovely slight oniony crumb. Heaven with a little apple sauce.
Disappointing Bread Sauce
Thought I'd get this instead of my usual packet Colmans for Christmas day because it had such great reviews. Awful mistake was the opinion of everyone, it had a very odd flavour no one liked. Not even a spoon of double cream couldn't improve it. Boxing day I went back to my usual packet Colmans. Much better it saved the day!

very nice
Better than tub of fresh. I dont bother making my own as this is lovely. You can easily adapt it to suit your taste - eg add an onion to soak in the milk beforehand - but I like this just as it is.
Useful stand\-by
This is useful to have in if you don't have time to prepare your own, but, even though I am a clove fan, I found it to be a bit over salted and spiced, the spice taste lingering in the mouth afterwards. We added cream as well as the milk and butter suggested to take the edge off the spiciness. I will buy it again, but next time I will add more breadcrumbs to let it down too.
