Great for cooking
Use this as a base for chicken noodle soup - it always has a great taste
Ocado Stock
Great to have on hand, why do Ocado insist on saying big price drop on loads of products when the price has not dropped at all. Come off it please.
I was very pleased with is stock
I bout 2 to go with our Christmas lunch We only had a couple of Chiken crowns. So need a base to make gravey
Bad nothing like the previous one
Over-salted and uninteresting.
Far too salty
I shop at Ocado because I generally like M&S food. I wanted to make a sauce from a recipe I found, which basically was sautéed vegetables declazed with a little wine then a cup of chicken stock. No salt had been added. After a few minutes I tasted what I was cooking, and it tasted like a saline solution. it was far too salty. The recipe called for the contents of the pan to be simmered to reduce the stock by half, hence concentrating the saltiness! I followed the recipe to the end because I knew I had to end with adding some double cream. At the end, the saltiness wasn't as noticeable because of the sweetness of the cream. But I won't use this stock again.
why does this have yeast extract?
If you cant have yeast this stock is out of the question. There is no need for yeast in it and the other M&S chicken stock is basically a tub of salty water. Back to Waitrose I go.
