Delicious for an allergen free cake mix

There is a buttery, moist, light crumb one expects from a good cake. This doesn't have it. It tends drier than most cakes, doesn't have a satisfying rise (compared to home baked cakes). I did not make it with the icing, perhaps the icing is intended to compensate for the dryness. I think a good cake shouldn't need icing. That said, it comes together easily, tastes great with a cuppa. Not recommended if baking a cake for a special occasion. But its fine for all those little moments in life when one needs a bit of cake

Im reviewing this product because I got a free coupon from Ocado. Its OK but quite dry without a lot of taste.

Nothing special

I’m reviewing this product because I got a free coupon from Ocado. It's a very simple and boring cake. This mix is pointless... there are plenty of easy recipes out there with simple ingredients that outperform this cake in every aspect.

Pretty good

If youve never had better. Easy to make and good healthy ingredients. But to make a decent sponge the instructions fall short. I needed to use half a pack of good butter as the mixture turns gloopy and the fat and milk are absorbed quickly to the point of beginning to dry. That said with patience I made a pretty delicious cake and treat. Its just sweet enough which is what I wanted and surprising as sugar is the second ingredient. I bake cakes in a large baking tray as I prefer a flatter slice and its easier to know its baked thoroughly and a bit quicker than the recommended time. In this case for me about 20 mins.
