Preparation and Usage
Try either of these two cooking methods:
1. Wash 250g (8oz) of rice thoroughly. Add rice to 2 pints of lightly salted water. Heat to boiling; stir once or twice. Reduce heat; cover and simmer. Cook for 45 to 50 minutes. If rice is not quite tender replace lid and cook 2 to 4 minutes longer. Drain in a sieve. Transfer the rice into a serving bowl and stir in a little butter or margarine (whichever preferred) to maintain separation of grain - then serve.
2. Wash 250g (8oz) rice and put into a deep microwave bowl. Add 525ml lightly salted water. Cover and cook on High for 5 minutes or until boiling. Reduce setting to Medium and cook 30 minutes, stand for 5 minutes then serve.

Good Rice, Great Price Point
Not sure what the others are doing with this rice but it always turns out great for me, and tastes good. The value for money is also excellent. It's not the top tier stuff but it's a great everyday cupboard essential.
NOT basmati!!
This is not basmati rice! Cooked way too fast and had the wrong taste and texture. Even my 8 year old spotted this straight away. I would not buy this again.
Pretty terrible
I choose brown basmati because of its flavour. This tastes of nothing. The cooking instructions are for brown basmati rice this behaves like very poor quality white rice - its done in 10 minutes. I doubt its authenticity and am throwing 3/4 of a pack away because its so unappetising. Pretty miffed actually.
Completely incorrect cooking instructions!
Instructions stated 45-50 mins simmer time - I checked on it after 30 mins and it had completely turned to mush... Will be checking on it after 15-20 minutes next time and hope for a better result...
Does a good job
Even the children are happy to eat this rice, works with everything. Would definitely recommend for the price
Lovely fluffy brown basmati
Some mixed reviews here but I have to say this is my favourite basmati rice. I don't have any problems with the texture being mushy but perhaps this is because I use a rice cooker rather than the stove top, so I don't have to time the cooking. I found this rice to be beautifully fragrant and, unusually for a wholegrain rice, light and fluffy in texture. I'm not buying any other rice from now on.
