A favourite hay.
My bunnies love this hay. Most of the year, it is fantastic, with the bonus of the yummy flowers. But there are a few months of the year when it's super dusty, and I avoid buying it; I guess that's just a seasonal thing.
Bunnies not keen!
We use other Burgess products but this hay was disappointing. Short stalks which made a mess as fell out of the hay rack. Our girls usually love hay but werent keen on this. Had an occasional nibble only. Ended up wasting most of the bag.
Awful
Tiny stubby pieces and a bag of dust. Awful quality. Feeding hay should be long stemmed, not stubby lengths with a bag full of dust. For a premium product, i asked for a refund. Terrible.
variable quality
Ive bought this in the summer and it was great. Since October its just been a bag full of inedible short sticks. Goes to waste. Bought more bags hoping it was a one-off but its all this bad
Guinea Pig Adores This Hay!
Petunia who is 4 has been eating this particular hay with dandelion included since she was 6 weeks old. The dandelion helps prevent Guinea Pigs from getting a Urinary Tract Infection. Petunia has not had a UTI in all the 4 years she has been eating this hay and dandelion by Burgess. Even when my benefits were stopped for 4 months I made sure she continued to have this hay because of the added dandelion. Of course you could buy dandelion separately. But why bother when Burgess provide it for you with the hay. Plus Burgess is highly thought of by Vets and you know you are not only getting excellent quality hay but quality dandelion too. This is very important for guinea pig health. We all want our guinea pigs to have a long and healthy lives and a good quality hay and dandelion is very important. The hay has no sharp edges to it like some cheaper hays. Petunia absolutely adores it. I would not buy my guinea pig any other hay than Burgess hay with dandelion. I have had 2 guinea pigs pass away from Urinary Tract Infection. As I said Petunia at 4 years of ages has kept well Thank God largly due I think to my consistenly feeding her this hay and dandelion which actively helps prevent her from getting a Urinary Tract Infection. UTIs are the most common cause of death in guinea pigs. The hay and dandelion smells delicious and it keeps well when kept in a sealed container. I have never found any sharp stubbs of hay in the hay or had any issue with quality at any time during the 4 years I have been feeding Petunia this particular hay. I cannot recommend this particular hay highly enough. Alongside this hay I feed Petunia fresh garden grass and Waitrose spinach which she adores and woofs down in seconds. If you are looking for a hay that can help prevent Urinary Tract Infections in your guinea pigs then this hay is the one to buy. It is the added Dandelion that is vital to a guinea pig's bladder health.
Timothy Hay
As Vets recommend. Mixed with Dandelion, my Bunny loves this hay. I get this & Alfalfa King, best 2 types according to my quite vocal Bunny
