Surprisingly poor
small amount of actual fish on 2 fillets - lots of flat skin attached to a fillet with no actual meat on it Looked suspiciously like it has been painted yellow rather badly rather than actually smoked, Won’t buy again and would advise you not to too!
Plenty of fish skin, not much actual fish
These looked OK until I opened the packet. What, at first sight, appeared to be two medium sized fillets turned out to be two small fillets with excess skin wrapped under them (so they looked good in the packet). The excess skin, of which there was a LOT, would have been trimmed off by any reputable fishmonger. Not so sure on the smell either - I expect them to smell like Smoked Haddock; a little surprised at the low-tide, hot-sun, rock-pool kind of odour.
Inedible
This had so many bones that it was inedible. Went straight into the bin after supper. We ate fried eggs instead
tastes really good
Excellent taste and the best smoked haddock Ive eaten for ages
Delicious
Purchased on a flash sale. Served up with mixed salad and green veg. Very nice indeed.
Excellent
Nearly scored full stars, but I only give that to fish that have jumped onto my hook and line. This made a lovely supper dish - I steamed them direct from the freezer until the flesh opened a little and the bright yellow had pleasingly faded. I topped with butter and ate with granary bread (and more butter). I popped the fillets skin side down on a warmed dining plate and was able to easily lift off big chunks of smoky fish. Not overly or unnaturally smokey either - like you'd get from a loch-side smoke house. Best smoked haddock I've had since my Nan used to cook it for me. Well done Fred and no nasty additives or colours. Fantastic.
