perfect for my hair
I find conditioner usually leaves my hair lank and sticky. I have to be so careful about getting it in my scalp that my fringe ends up frizzy. This is perfect for me. I can use it all over my head and my hair is beautifully smooth and shiny without being greasy. Dont change this, its brilliant.
Worst product ever
I cannot see how this can be called a conditioning bar. It has left my beautiful fine hair which i have been trying to grow for ages in such a bad state that i need to go to the hairdresser immediately to have several inches cut off. It actually seems to suck the moisture out of your hair rather than the other way round. As soon as I applied it to my hair it shrivelled into a matted mass and I could not comb it through at all. Eventually in desperation I applied another conditioner which we thankfully had in the cupboard but it took about half a bottle and an hour of gentle combing before I finally got every tangle out and even then my hair is now a frizzy mess with visible breakages. If I could leave minus stars I would as this bar not only doesn't do the job it is supposed to but actually leaves your hair in a worse state than before you started. Truly dreadful and I would warn anyone to not even risk trying it. There are plenty of other very good conditioner bars on sale, including on Ocado. Awful, awful, awful.
Mysterious product
I've had a variety of experiences with solid hair products, mostly good but some extremely bad. Conditioner seems to be the tricky one and I've ended up with lanky rats' tails with some products. The Foamie bar is an outlier... it foams! This makes it a lot easier to apply than some and it certainly doesn't leave my hair lank and 'greasy' looking... but I have wondered whether it is a mislabelled product as it seems to be only marginally conditioning ie not especially good at making my mid-length fine hair easily comb-able and not fuzzy. So I am not sure I would recommend it, especially not for anyone specifically looking for a 'damaged hair' product, but don't think I'll have to bin it as unusable, unlike its predecessor. The Foamie products have the advantage of being made to hang up, so you are not looking for a container, and they are labelled shampoo or conditioner on the string (if you look carefully... probably not much good in the shower if you need specs to read) I don't yet know whether the string leads to wastage near the end of the bar's life compared with a bar with no hole through it. I can't say the scent struck me one way or the other.
No way is this a conditioner bar
Ive used lots of conditioner bars with varying success, but this is easily the worst one Ive tried. Firstly, it foams (clue was in the name I guess). I had to check the box to make sure Id not accidentally bought a shampoo bar as it lathered up just like one. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt, rubbed it all in and tried to get a comb through it. No chance! Completely unconditioned and like Id only shampooed my hair. Washed it all out, not soft in the slightest, just like using a really strong shampoo bar that strips your hair. I may try it as a shampoo bar next time I use it because its useless as a conditioner no way. Not recommend at all!
Doesnt detangle or condition for me
I like the idea of not having plastic bottles, but I also like to be able to comb through my hair. Ive used a shampoo bar for a long while with more traditional conditioner but thought Id try this given two of the good reviews. For me thus is no good at all for detangling it conditioning which makes it a very poor product given its name... Maybe my hair is fine and flyaway or possibly damaged but I wouldnt buy this again! Its so poor Ive had to throw it away which is very disappointing at the price.
Finally!
Finally a solid conditioner I can actually use! Could never get on with the ones that don't foam. This does a perfect job of conditioning my hair without overdoing it. Perfect. I'm going to pick up a shampoo too.
