It took some washing to get the mud off. The bunch consisted of 2 massive beets and one tiny one. Each massive beet took an hour and a half to cook. Tasty once cooked through, but Id have preferred much smaller beets.
The picture shows a bunch of around 6 beetroot - about normal for a bunch of fresh beetroot. The two bunches I received had just 3 massive ones that u suspect will be woody and tough and not fit for use in salads etc. I would not have picked them up if was out shopping for myself.
A little frustrating that one time you get 5 small beets (personally prefer them small) and next time you get 3 gigantic ones. I can understand nature.. but the ones sold per bunch should all be the same caliber
This is how beetroot should taste , sweet ,lovely flavour ! Most supermkts I've tried , tasteless . Highly recommend this brand , will definitely buy again .
