HOW TO ENJOY
The GAIL’s Dark Sourdough is a complex-flavoured loaf which pairs well with cream cheese, smoked salmon & dill, or with a mature cheddar and marmalade.
STORAGE
Baked fresh and never with any preservatives, we recommend storing GAIL’s sourdough in a cool, dry place. To keep the bread for longer, slice immediately and store in an airtight container in the freezer, taking out slices and toasting, as desired.
Towards the end of its life, we recommend transforming the loaf into croutons, bruschetta or even stuffing.

Brand
We bake our loaves daily by hand with natural ingredients, and though we’re always innovating, our baking is based on time-honoured techniques and our decades-old starters.
Nothing gives us as much pleasure as a freshly baked, lovingly crafted loaf.
Our first GAIL’s bakery opened in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005. And now we’re bringing our neighbourhood bakery even closer to you, making good bread more widely available to our community.
Though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy has remained the same: to make good food that people love, and create bakeries that people want to keep coming back to.

Stale
Gails is great but bread bought from ocado is stale
TOTAL sour dough convert
I tried this brown sour dough loaf having been advised by a leading nutritionist that sour dough as the easiest bread to digest as it is fermented . I am a complete convert, as is my husband who is diabetic. He says it doesn't give him a sugar spike and loves the taste. I had stopped eating bread as it made me feel awful afterwards and now I can enjoy toast again with my breakfast.
The king of sourdough
This is the absolute daddy of all sourdoughs. Gails and other brands do different variations but this is by far the best.
Stale and mushy
Really disappointed with this bread. It literally says on the bread packaging that it is soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, but it felt mushy all around and absolutely no crunch at all. And to top it off, it expired within 48 hours of delivery. Great, thanks Ocado!
lovely bread
one of my favourite
Proper bread!
I am so pleased I found this bread. Unlike most English breads it is not sugary sweet, soft and more like cake. Wonderful! It is lovely and dense, crusty, and does not feel over-processed.
