HOW TO ENJOY
A long-standing favourite, the GAIL’s Seeded Sourdough holds its own on any dinner table. Perfect spread with butter and Marmite, or toasted and dipped into a hearty soup.
STORAGE
Baked fresh and never with any preservatives, we recommend storing GAIL’s sourdough in a cool, dry place. To keep the bread for longer, slice immediately and store in an airtight container in the freezer, taking out slices and toasting, as desired.
Towards the end of its life, we recommend transforming the loaf into a croque monsieur or bruschetta.

Brand
We bake our loaves daily by hand with natural ingredients, and though we’re always innovating, our baking is based on time-honoured techniques and our decades-old starters.
Nothing gives us as much pleasure as a freshly baked, lovingly crafted loaf.
Our first GAIL’s bakery opened in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005. And now we’re bringing our neighbourhood bakery even closer to you, making good bread more widely available to our community.
Though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy has remained the same: to make good food that people love, and create bakeries that people want to keep coming back to.

Recipe change
Although we've spoken to Gail's staff, they won't admit it but the recipe has changed - we know it and several of our friends have said the same. It's now just stodgy bread, and we've stopped buying it.
weekly buy for js
Tasty, keeps for a long time (just toast it), no preservatives.
Unfortunately good
Ive tried many and keep coming back to Gails seeded sourdough. Which is unfortunate as its quite pricey. I basically cant eat the limp offerings of normal processed loaves any more.
Binned
Managed one slice. Hard to cut into because it was almost stale, extremely dense and very dry, it was honestly akin to chewing cardboard. As others have said, it had a very short use by, think it was same day for the loaf I received. It was also overdone. Very disappointing as I was expecting much better for the price.
Great bread but almost always arrives stale
I really love this bread but ordering it from Ocado means it always comes with a best before date of the next day and its clearly already at least a day or so old. Its a shame as its great that you can buy Gails products on Ocado!
Always a bit stale
I do recommend this as its delicious bread, but I find its always a bit too stale when it arrives. Its a challenge even for my electric knife.
