We bake our loaves daily by hand, with natural ingredients, using time-honoured techniques and decades-old starters.
HOW TO ENJOY
The GAIL’s White Sourdough is a loaf for all occasions: enjoy thickly sliced and toasted with melted butter, spread with jam, or as an open sandwich.
STORAGE
Baked fresh and never with any preservatives, we recommend storing GAIL’s sourdough in a cool, dry place. To keep the bread for longer, slice immediately and store in an airtight container in the freezer, taking out slices and toasting, as desired.
Towards the end of its life, we recommend transforming the loaf into croutons, bruschetta or even French toast.

Brand
We bake our loaves daily by hand with natural ingredients, and though we’re always innovating, our baking is based on time-honoured techniques and our decades-old starters.
Nothing gives us as much pleasure as a freshly baked, lovingly crafted loaf.
Our first GAIL’s bakery opened in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005. And now we’re bringing our neighbourhood bakery even closer to you, making good bread more widely available to our community.
Though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy has remained the same: to make good food that people love, and create bakeries that people want to keep coming back to.

lovely bread but hard as a rock
This arrived like a brick, so not at all fresh. Managed to cut it and toasted it, so was ok. Will not buy it again as not fresh.
lovely
Obviously not as fresh as if wed bought it on the day at the bakery, but it was lovely the day it arrived, we sliced it and froze it then lightly toasted it from frozen the next day and it might have been even better? Really liked this and would buy again.
Great bread made as it should be
Surprised at the reviews here, I order this on a weekly basis and have never had a stale one. Maybe I've just been lucky. Sourdough is rarely a ideal sandwich bread anyway in my opinion as it's not soft, but this is beautiful toasted. Bonus points for the fact it's made as it should be with no preservatives or strange ingredients.
Great bread but arrived stale
Excellent bread but needs to be fresh on delivery day.
Delicious bread
Got this as a substitute and its really delicious. It smelt of bread too. Unlike supermarket bread. Of course you cannot compare the too. It was nice to have bread that reminded me of my childhood.
Delicious but need to toast
Love this bread and its few ingredients, no additives etc. Great flavour but it is dense & stale almost on arrival! So not to buy if you want it fresh as need to toast it or freeze. But makes best toast/ toastie/ garlic bread ever though which lasts for quite a few days
