Exquisite, exceptional, outstanding!
This organic bulgur wheat is outstanding! It has an exquisite, glorious nutty flavour and beautiful grainy texture which retains “al dente” bite with no stodgy gloopy mass – the depth of flavour and texture is exceptional. Be very careful not to overcook it - bulgur wheat is already steamed and cracked (just like couscous) so it only needs a few minutes to restore the texture of the grains, rather than full cooking. I use this as a side dish instead of potatoes, and as a delicious alternative to this brand's organic wholewheat couscous. It also makes glorious “risotto” in place of risotto rice - just cook the "risotto" for much less time than rice. I also love this brand’s organic wholewheat couscous, quinoa and their organic wholewheat pasta range. Another winner from Garofalo!
delicious but wrong cooking instructions!
The instructions on the packet are wrong. Correct ration 2:1, steam with lid on, no stirring. Otherwise, best bulgar ever!
good quality
This was great, my recipe was for in the oven with stock and it cooked perfectly and was very tasty - would order again.
Delicious
Tastes great and I much prefer this to couscous. I don't know why some people are complaining about cooking instructions, just fill 1/4 of a pan with salted water, boil it, then bung in the wheat you need and wait 6-ish minutes. Not that hard and doesn't require precision.
It s already cooked folks.
It's a pre-cooked wheat, which is broken into pieces and it's steamed (cooked) and it's dried out again. All we have to do is put it cold water for a couple of hours, then it inflates again or with boiling water, it goes a bit faster.
Great One
..and gosh people taste it whilst cooking, add more water if needed. You are not in Cern splitting the atom.
